What is a teeth whitening?

A process used to lighten the color of the teeth by removing light staining which restores the natural color of your teeth/the tooth's enamel.

 

What is the whitening palace treatment process?

In my whitening process the shade of your teeth will be recorded, before and after. You’ll be laying back during the entire treatment and a mouth retractor will be placed in your mouth to help keep it open to pull back the soft tissues of the mouth. Your mouth will then be isolated with cotton material to evaporate any access saliva. Your gums will be covered and protected with a barrier to avoid being exposed to the light and whitening materials used.

 

What are the side effects to teeth whitening?

Is the whitening process painful? 

No it is a noninvasive procedure, however some mild sensitivity can take place depending on the person. Mild Tooth sensitivity and gingival irritation can occur due to the material and light that is used.

 

What if I do encounter sensitivity?

During the teeth whitening procedure some may experience a very mild tingling sensation which are brief flashes of sensitivity that happen when the nerves in your teeth react to the whitening process. I call them “zingers”.  If this occurs you will be provided with a post-op relief gel to take home. Sensitivity is typically gone within a day after treatment.

 

Is it safe?

Yes! Teeth whitening is very safe and effective when done correctly under the supervision of a trained licensed professional. 

 

Do I need to get any untreated dental work done first??

The answer is yes! It’s best to consult with your dentist about any serious issues you may have. Getting a whitening while you have any untreated tooth problems such as exposed roots, cracks or openings of the teeth can result to sensitivity or irritation during the procedure. 

 

Can I whiten my fillings, veneers, partials or crowns? 

 Incase you missed it... No! Absolutely no false material can be whitened they will remain the color they are. 

 

What teeth will get whitened? 

A whitening is done to the smile line only, from canine to canine. Due to inability to reach the back of the mouth with material, a whitening is only done on the teeth you can see. 

 

How will my teeth feel?

After treatment your teeth will feel very clean and refreshed. The materials used have an indirect effect on the gums improving the health of the gums and helping them heal. While also making the teeth whiter. 

 

How many shades whiter will my teeth appear?

Everyone's teeth and enamel are different! Everyone may not obtain the same results as others. It's based off of the shade of your teeth, the layers of enamel and level of staining present.

However, your teeth can whiten 6 to 10 shades lighter with just one whitening palace session.

 

Will I need more than one session? 

Depending on the persons unique placement and shade of teeth this procedure can require more than one session. To achieve the best results, it is highly recommended that you return for another session if needed. Maximum results can last up to a year! 

 

How long is the procedure? 

Depending on the session chosen. It typically takes 30 mins to an hour. The duration will vary but always consider your session time with about 15 mins extra for preparation. 

 

What forms of payments are accepted?

CASH, ZELLE, OR APPLEPAY ONLY.

A deposit is required when booking your appointment. (If paying in cash, please allow yourself time to go to the atm if needed prior to your scheduled appointment time). Remaining balances are due at arrival before treatment begins. Refunds will not be provided for any services rendered, this includes your deposit. By booking, you are agreeing and acknowledging that all services are non-refundable.

 

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment? 

No. Unfortunately, this is an intimate setting due to limited space that also has to be kept sterile. Therefore no extra guests, this includes children.  

 

What if l'll be late to my appointment?

Please keep me informed, I’m very understanding. If running late, on occasions accommodations can be made. After your 15 min grace period, your appointment will have to be rescheduled with a new deposit.

 

Am I credentialed? How long have I been in business? 

I’m a licensed professional that has been in business for 4 years and in the dental field for 8 years. I follow OSHA and HIPPA guidelines. 

 

Need to know….

You must be 18 or older to receive service. A common misconception is that teeth are naturally pure white, which they are not. Please have realistic expectations based off of your personal oral health.
